Since his return to racquetball a little over five years ago, Guy Keller has helped not only the Louisiana Racquetball Association but has been a great Sportsman (2007 LRA Sportsman of the year) and is one of the sponsors of the WPRO Events held in New Orleans at the Elmwood Fitness Center. It was his donations of company products from Crystal Clear Imaging and most of all, his personal time that made the WPRO players feel at home.
Guy beagn playing racquetball back in 1975, but never played a tournament until five years ago, and has not missed a tournament in Louisiana or Mississippi since then.
"I have always been a supporter of racquetball including the IRT and WPRO," said Keller. "I am a partner in a digital graphics company - Crystal Clear Imaging. That allows me to create graphics, print and install them to dress up Elmwood Fitness Center and make the ladies feel appreciated. I enjoy donating my time and graphics expertise to make racquetball fun and entertaining for the fans as well as the players.
(Interesting note: His company made a 21 story banner for the side of a building for this years NBA AllStar Game).
"When I turned 50, I received my AARP card and a 3 month trial membership to either a club by my house or Elmwood Fitness Center. Since EFC was three blocks from work, I chose Elmwood. That’s where I met Al Schoff and the LRA crew. I joined all the leagues and as a result my game improved. Then I was introduced to local and out of town tournaments. That was all it took for me to make racquetball my passion," said Keller.
"I actually won 3rd place in the 50+B singles at the 2007 U.S National Singles in Houston. I am currently a member of Team Ektelon and I have made many friends across the country from all walks of life. I am especially close to the WPRO who have their championship season finale at Elmwood Fitness Center."
